Quick read: How To Never Waste Time Again Thinking About What To Post On Social Media

You probably already know that when you have a social media presence for your aesthetics business that consistency is important. The more you post, the more the social media robots like you and show your posts to your followers. The more followers who see it, the more it’s liked, the more engagement you get and the more shares you receive, the more people who aren’t following you might see it and the more new followers you get. And on and on it goes…

At first it’s great, you’ve got plenty to talk about, lots you can share and you feel rather enthusiastic about it all. LOOK AT ME! I can do this! This is quite fun. Ooooh, I got 25 likes. OMG she shared my post.

And then it’s not fun.

It’s draining.

You’ve run out of things to say.

It feels like a chore. Another thing on the list to do.

Sigh.

What now?

Here’s The Cheat

If you’ve run out of interesting and relevant things to say, it’s actually fairly easy to find out what people want to hear about aesthetic treatments.

Key words are all you need to think about. Those specific words that people are using to find out the information they need and want. For aesthetics they are always going to be treatment specific such as; Botox, fillers, chemical peels, skincare, thread lifts, laser hair removal, microneedling etc or concern specific such as; frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet, smokers line, acne scarring, dry skin.. you get the gist!

  • Answer the Public - answerthepublic.com is great for finding questions that people are asking. Type your keyword into the search bar on the homepage and you’ll be served tonnes of questions that people are asking Google. Botox alone reveals 100 questions that people have asked Google. Each of these can be a post (even a number of posts if there’s a few answers!) whether that’s a static post, a carousel, a story or a reel or cover them all in a video. So many ideas!

  • Moz - Create a free login and use the free keyword tool. It’s great as you just type your key term into the search bar, You get three searches a day on this, so make note of the key terms while you’re looking at them. For example, if you enter ‘lip filler’ in the search bar it will show you all of the related search queries of this key word. You’ll see things such as ‘lip filler swelling’, ‘how long do lip fillers last’, ‘best lip filler’…. again, EACH of these can be a post of some kind.

  • Ubersuggest - Create a free login and you’ll be able to use the free keyword tool. It only shows a few (they want you to pay for the subscription) but it’s handy and generally gives you the most popular search terms for that key word. It even throws in some examples of content ideas that other publications have written around that search term. For example, pop in ‘chemical peel’ and you’ll see ‘chemical peel for acne scars’ among other terms and a list of articles such as this one - again. Lots to fill your ideas piggy bank!

Be Trendy

There are other tools too that you’ll find with a quick Google search and it’s also worth mentioning Google Trends where you can key in a search term and see if it’s something that is being searched. There’s no point talking about ‘botox for toenails’ if nobody is interested in it. But you can spot if certain trends or treatments are having a moment, and jump on that.

You can also see general daily trends, which you may be able to use as hook for a post. Not every post has to be about aesthetics. You’re a human too, give your views on a topic if it’s being talked about a lot. Show your patients a bit of the ‘inside you’ by talking about things that are relevant and ‘zeigeisty’ - it could be the thing they relate to most and prompt them to book in.

See, data can be fun!

Google Trends shows us that Profhilo has had a huge increase in interest over the past five years!
