20 Reasons Why People Should Choose You!

Explaining to new patients why they should choose you is a mix of hard facts and emotional (the kind of person you are - we talk about that here) pulls.

One of those key facts is you’re a medically-qualified aesthetics practitioner.

But many patients will be unclear why this is important. After all, they don’t consider themselves a patient, it’s just a bit of Botox or lip filler - any beautician can do that, surely? It wouldn’t be allowed otherwise!

The availability of fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, chemical peels, laser hair removal etc, in beauty salons, nail technicians and hairdressers, has fuelled the misconception that non-surgical aesthetic treatments are akin to getting your nails or lashes done.

You and I know the reality.

So here are 20 reasons you can use to explain to patients why it matters that you’re a medic and why they should choose you. We’ve kept them short and snappy, using language patients will relate to.

You’re welcome to use these in your social media posts, emails, texts, website… whatever it may be!

We simply want people to be educated.

Why You Should Chose Me!

  1. The treatment you’re interested in - whether it’s Botox, fillers, chemical peel, threads, or microneedling,  is a medical treatment, not a beauty treatment.

  2. I’m accountable to a statutory body. I have rules surrounding what I do, so you’re more protected and I’m obsessed with with adhering to my professional standards

  3. I have to renew my registration every year and prove I’m able to practice and that I’m keeping up with my training, I never stop learning

  4. I’m proud of my achievements and my medical pin. I’d be devastated and embarrassed to be struck off by my statutory body, so I’m not going to risk it. It would ruin my career - I’m not going to take any shortcuts with your treatment, that would risk losing my status.

  5. You can raise complaints my statutory body if I’ve failed you - my statutory body has a process for patients to report any dissatisfaction and that would be looked into for you

  6. If you see a beautician or lay practitioner for your Botox or lip fillers, or any treatment, they aren’t accountable to anyone so if something goes wrong, you’ve got nobody to go to to seek justice

  7. I’m extremely competent and well trained in dealing with complications and emergency medical care  - if you have a reaction or something goes wrong, I know what to do

  8. I’ve studied, hard, the anatomy and physiology of your body - I really know what’s under your skin. When I look at your face, I’m thinking about what’s underneath as much as what is visible

  9. I’m super experienced in looking after patients and you’re my patient, you get the same care and love as any patient would in a healthcare setting

  10. I’m required to do a full consultation with you (lay practitioners aren’t). I’m good at explaining to you the benefits and risk of the treatment you’re having, so you can be confident you’re making the right decision based on facts and honesty

  11. I’m able to identify mental health conditions such as body dysmorphia and I can help you get the help you need if we realise this may be an issue

  12. You might not like me refusing you treatment, but I know what’s in your best interests. I’m confident to say ‘no’ if I believe a treatment isn’t right for you

  13. My duty of care doesn't end when you leave the clinic, I’ll look after you after your treatment to ensure there are no problems and that you’re happy with the outcome and see you again if necessary

  14.  A lay person can inject your face without having any medical knowledge or training - who would you prefer to treat you?

  15. I know if any medications you’re taking might interfere with the treatment you’re having, I understand how they interact and what we need to watch out for. I also know if any medical conditions you may have - from allergies to PCOS - might compromise your treatment

  16. I’m properly and fully insured - it’s a legal requirement for me! The good insurance companies won’t even touch a non-medic

  17. The kind of aesthetics training I’ve done doesn’t even allow non-medics to attend - it’s a cut above the rest

  18. Even if a non-medic has completed excellent training, they can’t have completed 4-6 years of medical training before that alongside a bucket load of experience in patient care and emergency response

  19. Most companies that sell the  drugs and devices I use, won’t even train non-medics, I get to use the most modern, premium and quality products

  20. Statistically speaking. I’m more likely to keep you safe. The majority of complications that occur from non-surgical cosmetic treatments come from non-medical practitioners.
